I’m a big fan of halva. Halva is a decadent and flaky and amazing sweet made with tahini. But the process to make it can be pretty tricky because you have to work very quick in order for the texture to be right.
Well, wouldn’t you know it. I played around and made some no heat needed halva bites. I added some vanilla collagen peptides to mine, but I bet you could add a little bit of protein powder instead, or a little bit of almond flour. I also do store mine in the freezer so they last longer and so I have a cold sweet treat ready for me!
1/2 cup almond flour
1/4 cup tahini
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp sea salt
2/3 scoop (eye ball it) vanilla collagen peptides
1/3 cup semi sweet chocolate, melted
2 tsp coconut oil
In a large bowl, whisk together the almond four, tahini, honey, vanilla extract, sea salt, and collagen peptides. Once mixture is combined, roll into little 2 tsp sized balls.
Meanwhile, melt the chocolate and coconut oil together. Then, dredge the halva bites into the melted chocolate and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Place them into your freezer until firm and then transfer to an air tight container. Should last about a month, if you don’t eat them all at once.
