It’s holiday season. That means lots of get togethers, holiday parties, and time to enjoy the company of one another.
You know what makes that even more fun? Cocktails. You know what makes cocktails (or even mocktails) even more fun (besides alcohol)? Fun garnishes. Here’s a great one for the holidays. Sugared cranberries.
You’ll want to plan to make these ahead of time, and I promise it’s worth it. Throw them in cosmos (like my White Cosmo with Bubbles), margaritas, or even as a garnish for your dessert table.

1 cup fresh cranberries
1.5 cups of sugar, separated
1 cup water
In a small saucepan, bring the water and 3/4 cup of sugar to a simmer, and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
Add cranberries to the syrup and pour cranberries and syrup into a container with a tight fitting lid. Store in the refrigerator overnight.
The next day, lay out a sheet of parchment paper. Strain the cranberries in a sieve. Toss the remaining 3/4 cup of sugar on the cranberries and place the cranberries on the parchment paper to dry for a few hours.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
